The first episode of British Furniture Manufacturers (BFM) new podcast, ‘Industry Matters’ – recorded at the January Furniture Show - is now available online.
Managing Director Sean Holt and Marketing and Communications Manager, Jo Audley-Charles host the podcast, which aims to tackle industry news and offer insights and analysis, as well as covering events and activities within the sector.
The first episode features interviews with some of the BFM members who exhibited at JFS, including Sherborne Upholstery, Lebus Upholstery, Celebrity, High Grove Beds and Tokyo Fabrics.
Jo said: “It was amazing to sit down with BFM members and hear all their stories – and there were so many interesting things that came out of the discussions.
“Among the issues we touched on were British manufacturing, women in the industry and the challenges of recruiting apprentices, but what struck me most was the warmth and welcome I received from everyone I spoke to.”
BFM members and anyone with an interest in the furniture industry can listen to the first episode of Industry Matters now on Spotify.
Sean Holt added: “The Industry Matters podcast gives us the opportunity to talk to members and share their views and insights with others across the sector.
“It’s also a useful tool to record discussions and debate on the issues of the day that is easy to share with our membership.
“I’d encourage BFM members and others with an interest in the sector to subscribe to Industry Matters for the latest news, views and insights.”
The next episode of the podcast will be recorded at the London Fabric Show, which takes place at ILEC Conference Centre, Earls Court, London on Tuesday, February 28 and Wednesday, March 1.
Registration for the London Fabric Show is now open.
