On the subject of the future of fabrics and FR, Lee says; "The reality is that I do not have the answers or the position to confirm what it will be, we are working to the current ambition and outline direction to convert to halogen free FR or no FR where possible. As a fabric supplier I will pull out the key annotations from the industry recommendations and what our interpretations and focus will be.
"My instinct tells me that the ambition for the UK Manufacturers is to ensure their market remains as difficult to enter as possible to ward off cheap European or Asian manufacturers who are not geared to UK standards – foam or fabrics."
"We will have a few fabrics available and I would like to offer an invite to BFM furniture manufacturers to request samples as a market preview to the chemical free route."
