The majority of our sofas and chairs are handmade in our own factory in Preston, Lancashire. Not only does this enable us to offer you an individualised, bespoke service, but it gives us control over the quality of what we produce.
Good foundations
Our furniture is built to last from the inside out, which is why we’re proud to offer a lifetime frame guarantee on all our upholstered sofas, chairs and footstools.
All of our sofas and chairs have a solid birch wood frame, kiln-dried to stop it warping, then glued, screwed and dowelled. All timber is sourced from European FSC-certified forests.
This strong foundation means we can use serpentine springs which, secured together to spread the weight load, bring durability and give a really comfy feel.
All of this ultimately makes the difference between a sofa you truly love and one that simply fits the bill.
Craft Skills
Buying handmade-to-order contributes to the sustainability of traditional craft skills and supports a local economy rooted in textiles and manufacturing.
Our makers have huge experience built up over many years. We support the transmission of this skill and knowledge to younger people eager to learn this craft and are actively working to improve training in, and access to, this skill set through apprenticeships.
Equally, we are not afraid to embrace innovation and change.
