Upholstery courses

At the Dorset Chairman, you will learn how to assess your piece of furniture prior to reupholstery, age, condition etc. We will also cover relevant Fire regulations. You will be introduced to the different tools and materials used and be shown through hands on practice and practical demonstration, firstly, how to remove the old coverings, fillings. Then how to use and apply them to obtain a foundation for the top covering.

You will then learn how to cut and apply top fillings and fabrics, leading to a professional finish.

In addition, you will be introduced to and shown how to apply trimmings to finish your piece.
